Morality Is Never Killing (MINK)

Veganism is defined as a lifestyle that excludes all animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and even honey. The reasons for adopting a vegan lifestyle can vary widely, including:

  • Health Benefits: Many choose veganism for its potential health benefits, such as lower cholesterol levels, reduced risk of heart disease, and improved digestion.

  • Environmental Impact: The environmental footprint of animal agriculture is significant. By choosing plant-based options, individuals can contribute to a more sustainable planet.

  • Ethical Considerations: For many, veganism is rooted in a desire to prevent animal suffering and promote animal rights.

Meal Planning

Planning your meals can help you stay on track and ensure you’re getting all the nutrients you need. Consider these tips:

  • Create a Weekly Menu: Outline your meals for the week, focusing on a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes.

  • Batch Cooking: Prepare meals in advance to save time during the week. Dishes like soups, stews, and grain bowls can be made in large quantities and stored for later.

My Grocery List

Having the right ingredients on hand makes it easier to prepare delicious vegan meals. Here are some essentials I always keep in stock :

  • Whole Grains: Quinoa, rice, rice noodles, rice paper, buckwheat,

  • Legumes: Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are excellent sources of protein.

  • Nuts and Seeds: Walnuts, Brazil nuts, Basil seeds, chia seeds, and flaxseeds provide healthy fats and protein.

  • Plant-Based Milks/Cheese Replacements: My top choice is coconut milk; I use canned coconut milk for soups & pasta sauces. I prefer to make homemade cashew cheese but Miyoko's, VioLife, and Kite Hill brands are top teir!

  • "Meat" Substitutes: TOFU is NOT bad for you! My other favorites are hearts of palms, any mushroom truly, and jackfruit.
